Riverbend Park Sunset with Amelia & Spencer | Grand Junction Photographer

There’s something magical about late summer evenings — when the air wants to be fall but isn’t quite ready yet. The trees are just beginning to turn, kissed with hints of gold, and the whole world feels like it’s holding its breath for change. That’s exactly how it felt during Amelia and Spencer’s golden hour session at Riverbend Park in Grand Junction — warm light, soft laughter, and a love that radiated through every moment.

Getting to spend the evening with these two was pure joy. Their connection was effortless — the kind of love that doesn’t need to perform, it just is. Between the quiet glances, the gentle touches, and the sweet, unprompted laughter, it truly felt like photographing a real-life fairytale.

Their engagement session was full of everything I love about being a Grand Junction photographer — glowy golden-hour slow dancing, a few moody fine-art moments, and so much laughter in between. One of my favorite shots was when I had them spin each other around, completely carefree. There’s something about that childlike giddiness that reminds me why I do what I do — capturing those fleeting, honest sparks between two people in love.

Sessions like this always bring me back to why I adore photographing here in Colorado — the laughter, the connection, and the stories that unfold against these stunning backdrops. Our little town truly has a magic all its own.
